While it's not my only style it's one that garners the most critiques, interestingly.
I thought I would shed some light on why I started using it.
I was at a job and an employee at another location asked me to fax him something. I can't recall exactly what but some sort of picture or sign.
When he received the fax it didn't turn out, so I retried it, no luck.
I took a sharpie and made dots over whatever it was and refaxed it.
It turned out perfect.
Keep in mind this was in the late '90's and my surroundings haven't gone into the computer age boom that was coming, so these are old fax machines that print on that bad shiny fax paper on a roll & . They don't print all that great and seemed to print as dots and not lines.
I kept experimenting with sending art through the fax machine, and I was amazed at how well the art printed out, when done in dots. The machine was able to differentiate the light & dark of the drawing more accurately when it was in dotted form than when in drawn lines.
When it was a drawn line it all came out the same darkness and more muddy and smeared a lot.
I noticed the smaller the dots I was drawing, the better the faxes were turning out.
A little while later I was given a set of Koh-I-Noor technical pens and some watercolor pencils and heavy textured watercolor board.
I started doing pointillism with the pens on the watercolor board and was blown away at how the ink was delivered on that paper, you could drop the most delicate, almost invisible, dots with the smallest pen.
I was addicted after that.
So maybe not that interesting but that's how it happened.

You're so brave for using pointillism... and obviously very patient!!!
Very awesome
